Are All Music & Dance Studios The Same?
Here are 8 reasons why The Academy of Music and Art is the right choice for you!
1) Focus on teaching: We focus on what we do best - teach. We do not sell musical instrument, dancewear, sheet music or books. This leaves us free to specialize in one thing - providing the best instruction possible. We have a custom designed school that creates an ideal learning environment.
2) Qualified adult instructors: Feel confident in who’s teaching your child... We love our high school aged students, but you won't find them teaching music lessons. All teachers have University or Conservatory training. But most important: all are dedicated teachers who strive to bring out the best in each student! From beginning to advance, we insist on adult instructors. Even if your musician is very young or a beginner all of our music lessons are taught by caring, qualified adults
3) All ages & all levels welcome: We teach students of all ages. Students are as young as 4 years old to adults in their 60' & 70's. We teach all levels. Beginners are welcome. We can also accommodate intermediate, advanced and professional level students.
4) Recitals and concerts: Recitals and concerts are held at least twice a year. The performances are optional and low pressure. The goal is to provide the students with fun and confidence building performance opportunities!
5) No required fundraisers: If you’re already selling candy bars for soccer and coupon books for school, the last thing you need is another fundraiser.

7) Classes that combine music and dance: Our Pop Star Dance and Broadway Bound Classes offer an innovative combination of dance and voice into a single class. Just like you would see on TV or in music videos. You won’t find classes like Pop Star Dance anywhere else.

How To Get The Most From Practicing
Commitment - Daily practice is essential to your success. Set aside the same time everyday for practicing. Many students find it helpful to have a place set up for practice. Have everything set up, your music and lesson plan out and ready to go. Be sure to pick a place away from the computer and TV!
Time - Set aside 30 to 60 minutes to practice everyday. Just like when you practice a sport you need to allow time to warm up, review fundamentals, practice new material and have time to experiment.
Persistence - The best practice advice ever: Don't quit!
Focus - It's hard (if not impossible) to learn more than one thing at a time. You will learn much faster if you focus on learning one thing at a time.
Have Fun - Don't forget that playing music is supposed to be fun.
