This is 21st century learning at its best!

Technology is alive and well at
The Academy of Music and Art!

The Academy of Music and Art is a 21st Century School!  Where else can you find a Music, Art and Dance School that combines great teaching with cutting edge technology in a professional, upscale setting?

Remember the days of music lessons with the piano teacher who rapped your knuckles with a ruler? The teacher that forced you to learn dull and uninteresting music? The cranky old lady in a musky front room? You remember, unfortunately!

The Academy of Music and Art is a different kind of place. We believe that Technology is an important part of learning an instrument in the 21st century!

Check out Studio One!

Our Studio 1 has a new Apple iMac computer. It has the fastest processor available - the Intel Core i7.  It gives you access to the latest music software. (Including Apple’s Garage Band, iTunes and Finale.)  The studio features a Yamaha P 90 keyboard. It can do both acoustic and MIDI recordings. You will have use of all the hardware - microphones, interfaces, M-Audio monitors, headphones etc. - that you need to make a professional recording.

*** We have a Professional Audio Engineer (Engineer Jake) on staff to make sure your recording is the best it can be!  Engineer Jake is a professional Audio Engineer trained at the world renowned Musicians Institute, in Hollywood. ***

What does this mean for you?

At The Academy of Music and Art you will have the opportunity to record your performances and your lessons!

There are five ways you benefit!

1)  You will be recording songs throughout the year. With your music teacher coaching you and Engineer Jake running the equipment you can produce CD’s and mp3’s of your original music and songs that you have learned. At the end of the year you’ll have a CD of all the music you learned. Keep it forever - make a copy for Grandma, play it for your friends!  You can look back and see how much progress you made in a year!

2)  You will have an audio version of your lessons.  You can record songs and exercises that you are currently working on.  It is important for you to hear how you sound.  You can use the recordings to measure your progress.  You will also get reminders from your teacher about what to work on.

3)  You have access to Finale. The industry standard music notation software program.  You and your teacher can use Finale to create custom sheet music and exercises for your lessons and performances.

4) Our vocal students receive hands-on instruction for how to use microphones. You will learn how to use them in live and recording situations.  Vocalists have access to AKG and Shure microphones.

5) Our instrumental students also have the opportunity to learn how to record their instruments.  Learn proper microphone placement and other recording techniques.

The dance students benefit too!

Our Pop Star Dance and Broadway Bound students will be recording vocal tracks and filming the dance routines!  We will sync the audio to the video using iMovie to create a music video!

Every music teaching room is properly equipped for maximum learning.

You deserve the best. All nine music teaching studios are equipped with the high quality instruments. Guitarists have use of Marshall, Fender and Crate amplifiers. You will learn on Pramberger, and Samick acoustic pianos.  The Piano Lab features high end Yamaha touch sensitive keyboards. Drum students are taught on real acoustic drum kits.
