What are lessons like?
Here’s what our guitar students are saying: “My daughter started taking guitar lessons at the academy a few years ago. The instructors have encouraged her creativity and love for music and the arts and it’s clear they love what they do. Through her guitar and dance training there she’s developed confidence not just in her musicality, but in herself as well.” L. Westover "I've been taking classical guitar lessons at the Academy for almost 2 years. The staff is extremely helpful and the instructors are the best I've found anywhere. I'm a retired person in my 60's and have benefited in many ways beyond simply learning guitar." M. Osgood |
The "15 Minute a Day" method is an innovative approach based on over 30 years of studying how to play and teach guitar. - You can apply the 15 minute method to any style of music. - The method is effective for all ages: children, over-scheduled teens and busy adults alike. The core principle of this method is that everyone learns the same material but the order, approach and amount of time spent varies from student to student. The 2 components of the 15 minute method are: 1) If you only have 15 minutes a day to practice, how you spend your 15 minutes of practice really matters! You could practice the wrong material for years and never make any progress. This problem can be solved by working with a teacher who knows how to teach you in a way that is beneficial to you. 2) How do you learn best? Everyone has a different way of learning. Visual: learning by seeing. Aural: learning by ear. Tactile: learning hands on. This is the most overlooked aspect of teaching and learning. It’s important that your teacher takes that into consideration. We have been successfully using this method of teaching and learning with our students since 1990. Getting started is easy. If you don't own a guitar you can uses one of our guitars for your first lesson. Online guitar lessons are available Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening and all day Saturday.
